Small gifts up to 15 €

Royal elastic hand wraps 4.6 m and the Royal mouthguard from our own brand wear out, so a spare pair of wraps or a new mouthguard always comes in handy. Someone who trains several times a week will appreciate odour-absorbing glove fresheners. For a token gift, choose a Royal keychain with a mini glove or punching bag, mini boxing gloves for the car (also available with names) or a decorative boxing glove, which also works as a prize or a thank-you for the coach. A coach or referee will like a Royal T-shirt with "Coach" or "Referee" on it.

A gift for a beginner

If someone has just started training, the best gift is a beginner kit: hand wraps, a mouthguard and boxing gloves. Royal boxing gloves from our own brand are the best value for money, and the whole kit costs about 50 €. See our guide "What You Need for Your First Boxing or Kickboxing Class" for the rest of the kit, and our boxing gloves guide for choosing the glove weight.

A gift for someone who has trained for years

An experienced athlete already has the basics, so it is worth giving something from a higher class. Boxing gloves from our premium own brand Hitman are a good choice: Hitman Beast gloves, for example, are made of 100% genuine leather. Someone who spars will use a Hitman headguard, and anyone who trains several times a week will appreciate a roomy gym bag.

For a Muay Thai fan, consider a traditional Mongkol headband and Prajead armbands from our Thai fighter accessories. Kickboxing fans will like the name T-shirts and caps of Lithuanian kickboxer Sergej Maslobojev from the Kuvalda shop range.

For training at home

If the athlete wants to train at home too, the best gift is a free-standing trainer, because it does not need to be hung and you do not have to drill the ceiling. From our premium own brand Hitman there is the Hitman Rapid Reflex Boxing Bar for reaction and speed, or the Hitman Bag-Big 180 cm free-standing bag for both punches and kicks. For a child, choose a free-standing punching bag for kids. On a smaller budget, a skipping rope or pads for training with a partner work well. All models are in free-standing bags, and our punching bag guide explains how to choose.

How to guess the size

• Boxing gloves – by body weight: under 60 kg choose 10–12 oz, 60–80 kg 12–14 oz, over 80 kg 14–16 oz. If you are not sure, 14 oz suits most adults.
• Hand wraps – 4.5 m for adults (often labelled 4.6 m), 3 m for kids.
• Mouthguard – boil-and-bite guards fit almost everyone. For kids up to 10–11, choose a junior size.
• Headguard – chosen by head circumference, so it is better to buy it together with the athlete or give a voucher.
• Clothing – by their usual clothing size. If in doubt, go one size up.
